this is just too much

i pretty much love kid sister even though she still hasn't released an album and she cancels every time i have a chance to see her. the fool's gold part of rcrd lbl has just made her new track family reunion available for download, and all i can say is wow. produced by diplo and featuring david banner, it's making my jaw drop with shock and amazement. it's a world away from the breakneck juke of switch board or even the wonky bassline of her verse on beeper, but it's all the better for it. alas it's just too late for the summatime, but hey, the weather is freakishly warm at the moment (where i am anyway), so this is unseasonably appropriate!

electric picnic has come and gone, sob sob sob. i'll talk about it over the weekend or something. next on the list is Shock's London Calling night, featuring Rory Phillips and Skull Juice. should be a great night, at least if it's anything like Rory's set in Kennedy's last year. while we're on the subject, i don't know why i've never talked about Shock here before. promoter of some great nights, proprietor of an always-interesting blog, and a nice guy to boot, Jon Averill is the main man behind Shock. etc.
